Today morning at 5:00 an unfortunate event took place. In the city of forts , Jodhpur, there stands the majestic Mehrangarh fort and which houses the Chamunda Devi Temple. There was a rush today as the festival of navratri have started and people were desperate to have a look at their kul devi. Around 1000 people were standing in long queue to have breif darshan of Devi Chamunda but little did they knew that Chamunda Devi wasn’t very much happy with them. As the door of temple opened at around 5:00 in morning the sudden rush of devotees turned into a tsunami of zombies and they tried to trample everyone around them. In the stampede that ensued it made sure that lots of people lost their lives. Around evening the news was that something around 200 people have to lose their live in the stampede.

Stampedes in temples/religious area is nothing new to India. It occurs fairly regularly in India and it doesn’t raises any eyebrows except for few days after the incident. India has become somewhat immune to such things. Bomb blast, stampedes have become so fairly regularly that it doesn’t seems to raise any ruckus anymore and the people just go on carrying their live until it happens in their city or to themselve.
