Date Entry Jobs are jobs which are provided by companies which needs to get some data entered manually into computers from data sources such as evaluation forms, pamplets, brochures or any other forms filled up by consumer/public.  Let us take an example and it will become clearer to you. Suppose you conducted a seminar about personality development and your target audience was students or working professionals. After/during the seminar you got the participants to fill up a form. There were upwards of 100 participants. Now you collect all the data forms and want to save the contents onto computers. One way to enter the data is that you ask your employee to enter the data into the system. This is an easy way but it is time consuming and you have to utilize your office resources for a very mundane task of entering data. Now instead of getting your employee to enter data you can outsource this task to data entry firms which will do this task on behalf of you. Data entry firms can do this task easily and at cheaper cost since they already have all the setup with them.  But many data entry firms don’t have requisite capacity and if they get overbooked with data entry jobs , they will most likely outsource the task themselve to some other firms.

So this in essence is how data entry jobs are supposed to be created.  But genuine data entry jobs are very tough to come by. Generally the company who provides such service already have a well-established setup and it is very rare for them to get extra work.  But few companies have started to exploit this situation. What they do is technically pyramid scheme.

In data entry pyramid scheme, the scamming company set up a good office and start giving ads in local newspaper about the data entry jobs.  They are pretty good in convicing people about the prospect of earning money by entering data and often claim that they got the order from the likes of google,microsoft for their online library building initiative.  The modus operandi of such companies are very simple. After giving the ads , unemployed youths,students, housewives starts thronging the company office and sign up in droves.  But they have to generally pay some amount upfront for getting the data entry jobs.  This money which is paid upfront is generally used to pay the people down the line.  Now what this companies in the name of data entry do is invite people to become paid member so that they can receive the data entry jobs and with their money they pay the persons who joined earlier.  This chain continues untill there are no more new members to join or someone alerts the police about the scam.

My advice for the people would be not to fall for such data entry scams since the cost of computers is very less now and a company who has got big data entry jobs can get the job inhouse in a much better way then relying on outsiders to do the job.

Btw if you are looking to make real money online then there exists real opportunity to make simple money by commenting on forums.  Make money from forums is a real way of making some money albeit it is not a easy task, but then if it is very easy to make money why on the earth somebody will tell you. They would rather do it themselves, unless they will make some money by making you purchase some kits such as data entry jobs lists.
